However, this rise in popularity has seen to it that the game’s developers start the new year off running and scrambling for their lives as the sudden success has taken the creators by surprise. Not only that, but the game has also managed to obliterate the concurrent players’ record of Among Us with a peak concurrent player count of 563,677, beating the latter by over a hundred thousand players. In no small part thanks to beloved BTS superstar Kim Tae-Hyung recently streaming the game, Goose Goose Duck has found itself souring to unprecedented heights and popularity – seemingly overnight to become one of Steam’s most-played games of the year, so far. However, despite being so similar to Among us, Goose Goose Duck was never able to match the formers numbers or popularity… Until now. It’s also more involved than Among Us, offering far more roles and modes.
Goose Goose Duck is essentially Among Us, but with Goose, Gooses, Geese and, of course, Ducks. So here’s the story, if the name Goose Goose Duck doesn’t ring any bells, let me explain. By done it again, I don’t mean taken over more of the world with its almost cult-like charm and foot-tappingly good bops no, this time around, K-pop is responsible for taking a practically forgotten-about game, revitalising it and turning it into one of the most-played games of the year so far. And just like that, K-pop has done it again.
